Despite his recent humiliation in comic books, Bossk is far from over. With the NGE, Bossk finally found his way into Star Wars: Galaxies.

This comic also means fans could potentially encounter the Trandoshan bounty hunter in The Mandalorian, or another Star Wars show set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The Halcyon Legacy #5 confirms that Bossk survived the sail barge explosion for the first time in Canon.

This comic, designated to release in June, takes place during the formation of The New Republic. While a story still hasn't elaborated on his survival against the explosion concluding Jabba's massive entourage over the Sarlacc Pit, Bossk is set to star in Star Wars: The Halcyon Legacy #5, by Ethan Sacks and Will Sliney. Bossk survives until his appearance in Return of the Jedi, so it's clear he's not dead.īossk's final, canonical appearance, as of now, is aboard Jabba the Hutt's sail barge. Nonetheless, his raw strength has always outweighed his lack of discretion. An argument could be made that Bossk is a savage beast who leaps before he looks, so it makes sense that he failed against Vukorah. At one point, Bossk was the most treacherous hunter in the galaxy, the leader of the Bounty Hunter's Guild, and stood a chance against Boba Fett. It's quite astonishing how Bossk's status has diminished.

Unfortunately, when he and Aura Sing trained Boba Fett, Bossk unintentionally lowered himself in the ranks, as he couldn't compete with mixed Trandoshan, Mandalorian, and Human skill mastery. When Bossk successfully hunted and skinned several Wookiees at an early age, as is customary for his species, he eventually killed his father, becoming the most dangerous bounty hunter in the entire galaxy. Not only was Cradossk the mightiest Trandoshan who ever lived, but he also led the Bounty Hunter's Guild. His father, Cradossk, considered this to be an achievement, so he named his son "Bossk," which directly translates to "devours his prey" in their native Dosh language. When he was a child, he ate his siblings. Bossk's roots in Star Wars Legends are ferocious, as seen in his Trandoshan origins. While Boba Fett's first appearance in the Star Wars Holiday Special landed him the title of " best bounty hunter in the galaxy," Bossk is possibly the runner-up. Mary Jo Duffy, David Michelinie, Ron Frenz, and Gene Day's Star Wars #67-72 (from 1982 to 1983) provided a source for Bossk's Legends origins.
